Function:

Provide security with full disk encryption by utilizing Apple's FileVault 2 technology.

Known Issues:

Mac OS X 10.7 users should install SecureDoc with SecureDoc encyption due to a known issue with Mac OS X 10.7.5 and SecureDoc 6.1 with FileVault encryption.

Computers that need the autoboot functionallity (checkout laptops and computer labs) will need to install the SecureDoc with SecureDoc encyption since FileVault does not have an autoboot feature.

Faronics DeepFreeze for Mac is uncompatible with SecureDoc. It is strongly recommended that DeepFreeze for Mac be uninstalled before installing SecureDoc. Faronics has no plans to make DeepFreeze for Mac work with any type of encryption for Mac.

It is possible for WinMagic SecureDoc to uninstall itself. If this occurs the computer will need to be decrypted and SecureDoc with FileVault reinstalled. To do this open System Preferences, click the Security & Privacy icon, click the FileVault tab and click the Turn Off FileVault button. Allow FileVault to fully unencrypt the computer before reinstalling SecureDoc with FileVault.
