The UTA Spirit Groups program consists of the Cheer Team, Dance Team, Wrangler student group and Blaze, the mascot. Spirit Groups supports UTA at athletic and university events, represents UTA in the community, and competes nationally.

Spirit Groups Goes to Nationals
The UTA spirit groups traveled to Florida April 6-10 for their national competitions. The cheer team, dance team and mascot prepare and look forward to this time all year. Dance competed in The College Classic and placed 2nd in the team performance and 3rd in the hip hop. The dance team was also selected to compete in The College Classic Battle where they competed live against two other highest scoring teams in the hip hop category and won! Cheer competed in the NCA Collegiate National Championship and placed 4thin the game day division. We are incredibly proud of these groups.

The University of Texas at Arlington Cheer Squad is a hardworking and dedicated team, who has to balance their time between their education, cheer, and other activities.
Maverick Dancers
The Maverick Dance Team is the official dance team of The University of Texas at Arlington. Our style of dance consists of a combination of jazz, hip-hop and pom.
