Maintaining UTA’s commitment to health and safety

In light of new guidance about masking from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we want to remind you of some best practices we can all uphold to maintain our commitment to the safety of our Maverick community:

Wearing a face covering or mask when indoors on campus—though not mandated, per an executive order from Gov. Greg Abbott—is encouraged, regardless of your vaccination status.
The COVID‑19 vaccine remains our best defense against the virus; it is an invaluable tool as we strive to resume normal living, working, and learning. Our COVID‑19 Vaccination Information and Resources website can help you identify convenient vaccination locations.
Stay vigilant and perform a health self-screening before coming to campus each day.
We can help you get tested for COVID‑19. Information about testing options is available on our website.
If you test positive for COVID‑19 or are in close contact with someone who does, and if you are not fully vaccinated, don’t forget to complete the Close Contact and Personal Diagnosis Form to help us with contact tracing. It is recommended that you get tested three to five days after close contact even if you are fully vaccinated.

UTA is continuously monitoring the latest guidance from the CDC and the state of Texas. The summer 2021 and academic year 2021‑22 Campus Operations Plans remain the most up-to-date sources for UTA’s comprehensive plans and response to COVID‑19.

We cannot wait to see you back on campus soon. Please continue making smart decisions to protect the health and safety of yourself and others and stay focused and committed until we’ve clearly emerged on the other side of this pandemic.
