Health Across the Lifespan - Commitment to Research

Degree programs in the Department of Kinesiology prepare students to make an impact on people's health across a variety of situations and life stages. Underlying the student's preparation is the Department's culture of research that seeks to go beyond explaining how to understanding why.

Undergraduate Programs

Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science
Examine the body's physiological responses to exercise. Two degree tracks are available, Clinical Health Professions and Fitness/Wellness.

Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology
This degree is offered as Physical Education Teacher Education, leading to Texas Teacher Certification, and a Kinesiology Sports Leadership and Management option.

Public Health (currently a track of BS Exercise Science)
This exercise science-based degree track intersects individual health, wellness and prevention with population-based health perspectives. This program is expected to expand pending required approvals.

Graduate Programs

Master of Science in Exercise Science
A research-based program focusing on the effects of exercise on health and well-being.

Master of Science in Athletic Training
Athletic Trainers focus on the unique needs of athletes, and develop a skillset that is increasingly applicable to a wider spectrum of healthcare needs.

Doctor of Philosophy in Kinesiology
Launched in Fall 2016, our rapidly growing Kinesiology PhD program prepares and guides students to engage the discipline of Kinesiology at the highest scholarly and academic level.

Public Health Programs

Bachelor of Science in Public Health
Beginning in Fall 2017, and pending required final approvals, the Department of Kinesiology will offer a new Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH).
