Info session today on Employee Tuition Assistance Plan

The Office of Human Resources will host an informational session 3-5 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 11, on the new Employee Tuition Assistance Plan that begins in this fall. The session is in the Lone Star Auditorium of the Maverick Activities Center.

Representatives from Human Resources, Financial Aid, and Student Financials will be on hand to answer any questions.

To find out more about this new benefit—including the policy, eligibility requirements, and a list of frequently asked questions—visit the Human Resources website.

Register your vehicle for new parking permits

General parking permits and reserved space permit renewals are available now for faculty and staff.

UTA's virtual parking management system, MAVPark, is an online service that increases efficiency for customers and eliminates the need for parking decals and paper citations. MAVPark uses vehicle-mounted license plate readers to identify the license plate numbers of parked vehicles for comparison against the virtual database of permitted vehicles.

To purchase a parking permit, visit uta.edu/pats and click on Obtain a Permit under the big blue P. Read more about MAVPark.

Plan for parking for your next event

If your department or organization hosts an on-campus event that off-campus visitors will attend, fill out a Special Event Parking Request form at least one week before your event. Learn more about special event parking.

All personal vehicles parked on campus will need to purchase a parking permit. A link can be provided for the event organizer to allow attendees to purchase their parking before arriving on campus.

And be sure to add your department's or organization's events on the new UTA events calendar.

Business abroad

Of the 98 College of Business undergraduate students who studied abroad in 2015-2016, 85 of them received financial assistance from the Jack and Doris Fouse Scholarship for Study Abroad Fund. The fund was established in 2015 by UTA alumna Jackie Fouse and named in honor of her parents. Her gift, which was matched with additional support, has more than tripled the number of students participating in international study. Watch the video.
