| Whereas | The syllabus is designed to inform students of all areas of the course and grading procedures; and |
| Whereas | Everyone would agree that grades should be distributed in a fair manner; and |
| Whereas | Exemption policies of final exams encourage students to put forth the "extra effort" during the semester |
| Be It Further Resolved That | Any professor, associated professor or lecturer who has an exemption policy for the final exam state the exemption policy guidelines on the syllabus at the beginning of the semester; and |
| Be It Further Resolved That | This will ensure all students have an equitable chance at exemption on the final exam eliminating subjective opinion; and |
| Be It Further Resolved That | This is not an attempt to change any teaching styles but merely to let students know the "rules of the game"; and |
| Be It Further Resolved That | If no exemption policy is stated on the syllabus, then no student in the class may be exempt from taking the final exam. |
