| Whereas | It is in the best interest of UTA to "look out" for student: and |
| Whereas | The lighting on campus in many places is very dim or virtually non-existent; and |
| Whereas | Brighter and/or more lighting is in the best interest of all students, especially female students; and |
| Whereas | The university should be proactive rather than reactive. |
| Be It Further Resolved That | Student Congress recommend that lights on campus be brighter and/or added; and |
| Be It Further Resolved That | Every student should ask, "Why should we wait until someone is raped, mugged, or hurt before we take action?" |
