| Whereas | Dr. Wendell Nedderman has served as the President of the University of Texas at Arlington the past 19 years; and |
| Whereas | During his presidential tenure, undergraduate enrollment has increased from 13,500 in 1972 to 24,800 in 1990 and graduate enrollment has increased from 936 to over 4000; and |
| Whereas | 20 Baccalaureate, 23 Masters, and 17 Doctoral degree titles have been added during this period; and |
| Whereas | A School of Architecture, a School of Nursing, and a Center for Professional Teacher Education have been added during this period; and |
| Whereas | There are some 20 new buildings(or some major additions to buildings) totaling some 1,600,000 gross sq, ft of new space; and |
| Whereas | Dr. Nedderman served as the first UTA Dean of Engineering from 1959-1969, Graduate School Administrator from 1967-1969, Vice-President of Academic Affairs from 1968-1972, and President and Professor of Civil Engineering form 1972- present; Dr. Nedderman has maintained a working relationship with and a strong interest in the Student Community and Student Congress; Dr. Nedderman has contributed immeasurably to the strong academic reputation of UTA; A successor will soon be found for the retiring University President |
| Be It Further Resolved That | Student Congress officially expresses our appreciation by inviting Dr. Nedderman to the next general meeting and present him with an honorary Student Congress T-Shirt. |
