| Whereas | The Maverick Athletic Center, known as the MAC, provides UTA students with a place to exercise and socialize, and; |
| Whereas | UTA is both a public campus and a commuter school, meaning UTA students have friends and family that do not attend UTA, and; |
| Whereas | UTA students wanting to bring guests into the MAC must pay a $10 fee per person, limiting student’s ability to enjoy an active lifestyle with their friends and family, and; |
| Whereas | Part of UTA’s mission is to foster inclusivity, create a community of belonging, and to have a lasting impact on the community it serves; |
| Be It Further Resolved That | The University gives students a limited number of free guests passes per semester to better utilize the guest system initially. However, visits occurring afterwards should be paid for as per the $10 fee. |
