Remarks
Whereas The UTA Maverick Activity Center has outdoor fields that can be used for informal recreation such as soccer; and,
Whereas many student have become subjected to utilizing the inside basketball courts as soccer fields with makeshift goals; and,
Whereas as a UTA student who has committed to soccer and enjoys the athletic benefits of playing, the current fields have impaired the ability to grow in this sport, resulting in a disapproval for the university fields and recognizing the consecutive lack of attention that the university gives to our tuition pay athletic facilities; and,
Whereas it's important to note that though we are not scholarship based athletes, any student who desires to grow in their chosen activity including rock climbing, basketball, tennis, swimming, etc, should be accommodated by our residence life; and,
Whereas even if the intended open field behind the MAC wasn't for the purpose of a soccer field the accessibility for future players should be available in tandem with the activities listed previously including tennis, basketball, etc; and,
Whereas the effects of these activities allow the students to bring on campus presence heightening the fellowship and involvement between each other this concept as a student leader has become a priority seeing as though we are mostly known as a commuter school; and,
Be It Further Resolved That the university should allocate the proper funding to upkeep and maintenance of the outside fields allowing future students the accessibility to growing and creating healthy hobbies and habits even if not categorized as a scholarship based athlete.
