The department offers a Master of Science in Biology with research emphasis in Genomics & Genetics, Ecology & Systematics, or Microbiology.
The department offers a thesis and a non-thesis Master of Science in Biology. The thesis option requires doing novel scientific research under the guidance of one of our esteemed research faculty members. The non-thesis option is designed for teachers, those intending to enter the teaching profession, and for other professionals who wish to pursue a master's degree in Biology, either as a part-time or full-time student.

How to Apply
Briefly, apply online through the UTA Graduate School web site http://grad.uta.edu/ and pay the application fee. Have your GRE scores sent to the graduate school. If you are an international student, have the scores from your spoken english competency exam (TSE, TOEFL ibt, or IELTS) sent also. Because the Graduate School is a separate entity from the Biology Department, you must send your letter of intent and letters of recommendation to the Biology Department. Also, tell us which lab(s) are of interest you, list up to three labs.
