The Bachelor of Science in Biology is recommended to those students desiring to become professional biologists, biology
teachers in secondary schools, to enter certain allied-health fields, and those individuals intending to continue their
education through entrance into professional schools of medicine or dentistry, or pursue advanced graduate study and research
at the master’s or doctorate level. Five different options have been devised that are tailored to meet individual career
goals and all lead to a BS degree in biology: General Biology (Option 1); Genetics and Genomics (Option 2); Environmental
Biology (Option 3); Pre-medical, and
Pre-dental, and Pre-veterinary Biology
(Option 4).
