Scholarships
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers the following scholarships for undergraduate students.
John T. Murchison Scholarship
Pre-med students of any major are invited to apply for the John T. Murchison Scholarship. Students with a strong academic record and a demonstrated financial need are eligible, and first-generation college students and/or students from single-parent families will be given special consideration. To apply for the John T. Murchison Scholarship, please submit this application electronically, and ask at least two references to submit a recommendation form. (Please note that this application form must be submitted electronically by clicking the “Submit Form” button at the bottom of the application. Paper copies of the scholarship application will not be accepted.) Applications and recommendations must be received no later than November 15, 2012.
Chemistry and Biochemistry Scholarships
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry provides several scholarships for undergraduate Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biological Chemistry majors. Students who submit the Chemistry Scholarship Application Form will be given consideration for any of the scholarships below for which they are eligible. (Please note that this application form must be submitted electronically by clicking the “Submit Form” button at the bottom of the application. Paper copies of the scholarship application will not be accepted.) To be given consideration, applications must be received no later than November 15, 2012.

For an outstanding junior-level student in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
Sharon and Donald L. Jernigan Chemistry Scholarship
For outstanding undergraduate Chemistry majors
Dennis S. Marynick Scholarship
For an outstanding undergraduate student in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry who is currently enrolled in or has completed CHEM 3322, Physical Chemistry II
