James R. Angell (1869 – 1949)

James R. Angell was a student of John Dewey and William James. He served as president of the University of Chicago and Yale University, and helped develop intelligence testing for the U.S. Army during World War I. In 1937, he became the educational counselor of the National Broadcasting Company. His writings include several standard psychology textbooks, Chapters from Modern Psychology, American Education, and numerous articles on psychology and education.
