Two of the undergraduate students working in Dr. Perrotti’s lab have been accepted into the 2013 UTA McNair Scholars Program: Aspen Samuel, a 2012 LSAMP scholar, and Sarah Anderson, a 2012 IENGAGE mentee. We are very proud of these bright and hard-working students and look forward to their McNair experience.

For the second time (the first time was in 2009), UT Arlington’s Dept of Psychology has been invited to participate in a Brain Bowl at University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. Brain Bowl is a neuroscience quiz show that University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTSCSA) hosts for teams of undergraduates from 8 universities across Texas. This year it will be held on April 16th. Brain Bowl is a fun activity and a great way for undergraduate students and their mentors to meet and interact with colleagues in neuroscience - faculty and students - from other schools across the state.
In past years, Baylor, UT Austin, Southwestern in Georgetown, St. Mary's University, Texas A&M, UTSA, Trinity and Texas Lutheran have participated. Dr. David Morilak at UTSCSA works with faculty contacts (Dr. Linda Perrotti is the faculty contact for UT Arlington) at each school to coordinate the participation of their students. Our participants are upper level undergraduate students of psychology. The following 6 students comprise UT Arlington’s 2013 Brain Bowl team: Aliza DeNobrega, Matt Fisher, John Perish, Aspen Samuel, Hannah Wriston (all seniors) and Gaurang Gupte (a junior).
