| The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is located in Science Hall and the 55,000 square foot W. A. Baker Chemistry Research Building (pictured right) designed primarily for research. The Baker Chemistry Research Building was completed in 1996 and is a state-of-the-art facility which houses the research groups primarily involved in chemical synthesis. |

The department will also occupy half of the new Chemistry and Physics Building (pictured left) scheduled to open in December, 2005. This building represents a $44 million investment in the research and teaching programs in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department and will house the analytical, biochemical, and physical chemistry research groups and the undergraduate teaching labs. |
