Christopher R. Scotese, Professor, Ph.D., University of
Chicago, 1985. Research interests include plate tectonics, paleogeography, and
paleoclimatology. The PALEOMAP Project, which produces lithologic maps of the past
configuration of the continents and ocean basins, is the primary focus of this research.

Examples of PaleoMap reconstructions at 020 MYBP (Early Miocene), and
at 065 MYBP (Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary) centered on the location
of the Chicxulub crater.
