Description of Research

Dr. Mora's research focuses on the relationship of illness cognitions and illness-specific affective responses to illness behavior and illness self-management. He is particularly interested in understanding how emotional factors influence people's perceptions and reports of physical symptoms. He has been collaborating in a study examining psychosocial factors associated with postpartum depression among inner-city women. His current research focuses on understanding how cultural factors impact chronic illness management and health outcomes.
