MFA Design Team Poster

MFA students Yanina Blanco, Jessica Temchenko, Nijal Munankarmi, and Farnoosh Sharbafi, along with Design Professor Seiji Ikeda, recently collaborated with the Tarrant County Coalition for Peace and Justice to create materials to promote the upcoming event series: “Say His Name, Fort Worth: Mr. Fred Rouse.”

This group of graduate design students undertook the project as part of a fellowship offered by the Art & Art History Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee to create a poster and other materials to publicize a week of events taking place to commemorate the lynching of Fred Rouse 100 years ago in Fort Worth.

The DEI Committee encourages students, faculty, and staff to attend the events and support the TCCPJ’s work, including the establishment of the Mr. Fred Rouse Memorial Park at 1000 NE 12thStreet in Fort Worth the site where Mr. Fred Rouse was killed. The affiliated project TRANSFORM 1012 is also working to convert a former KKK Klavern in Fort Worth into an inclusive community and arts center.
