Designed for aspiring law students as well as students who have submitted their application to law school this admissions cycle, Admissions representatives from all 10 law schools in Texas, will answer questions about what they look for in prospective law school candidates. Hear straight from the decision-makers as to what distinguishes candidates (good and bad), how to avoid the waitlist, what they are looking for when reading a personal statement, and more. This session will be audience driven as students may submit questions in advance of the panel. If time permits, there may also be the opportunity to ask questions of the individual panelists at the conclusion of the session.
Whether you are considering law school in the future or recently applied to law school this year, don't miss this opportunity to engage directly with Admissions representatives from all Texas law schools, including Baylor University School of Law, SMU Dedman School of Law, South Texas College of Law Houston, St. Mary’s University School of Law, Texas A&M University School of Law, Texas Southern University – Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Texas Tech University School of Law, The University of Texas School of Law, University of Houston Law Center, and University of North Texas Dallas College of Law.

- Moot Court Available First Time in Summer
For the first time, there will be an 11 week Moot Court course offering in the summer. The course will be taught by Tarrant County Judge Chris Taylor and will be open to both experienced students looking to compete in fall as well as novice students looking to expose themselves to appellate advocacy.
The summer session will feature special opportunities to attend live hearings at the Court of Appeals as well as a chance to work on the newly released case problem available in May.
The course number will be HIST 4391.
Any specific questions about this course can be answered by undergraduate advisors in the History Department.
- 2023 Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) Program
Chicago-Kent College of Law at Illinois Tech is sponsoring a resident Prelaw Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) Program from Sunday, June 4 through Friday, June 23, 2023. We hope you will share information about our program with students who might be interested in going to law school. Currently, the program is scheduled to take place in person. However, we will continue to monitor the CDC guidelines and adjust our program if it becomes necessary to ensure the safety of all involved.
PLUS offers a unique and unforgettable experience for college students who are interested in the legal profession. This rigorous three-week program is designed to prepare students for law school or a career in the legal profession by helping them to develop essential core competencies needed to succeed in these areas. The program targets undergraduate college students from groups that are underrepresented in the legal profession.
The PLUS program is a free, three-week summer program that will:
- provide participants with a deeper understanding of legal education via the program's rigorous doctrinal and experiential skills-based curriculum;
- help participants develop essential core competencies needed to succeed in the law school application and admissions process, as well as insight into navigating the process; and
- expose students to a wide range of career paths and professionals within the legal profession.
The program will cover the cost of tuition, room in a residence hall, required course materials and other expenses. Participants are paid a stipend to offset some of their meals and other expenses. The program does not pay for any transportation expenses. The Application deadline for receipt of all required documentation is Friday, March 10, 2023.
Interested students can access the PLUS website at PLUS Information to complete the online application. Read a recent article about the continued success of the Chicago-Kent PLUS program:
Should you have any questions, please contact Marsha Ross-Jackson, Director, PLUS Program via email at mrossjac@kentlaw.iit.edu.
