Judith Anagbonu, MSW

Judith Sena Anagbonu earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Houston, building on more than a decade of impactful teaching and various roles, including school guidance and counseling coordinator, teacher-in-charge of school health, and advocate for girls’ education. Through these experiences, she witnessed firsthand the challenges students face, particularly the lack of adequate mental health support, which fueled her passion for social work advocacy for children. Judith is deeply committed to working towards advocating for all schoolchildren facing mental health challenges to receive the resources and care they need to thrive and reach their potential. Recognized at the University of Houston for her academic excellence and service as a student leader and college ambassador, she now pursues a PhD research project that seeks to identify and address barriers to mental health support for schoolchildren, promote equitable access to these essential services, and advance global understanding of the complexities of children’s mental health.
