UK's Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)
The UK is moving toward a fully digitized "contactless" border.
Enforcement Date: February 25, 2026. While the system has been in a "soft launch" phase, carriers will be legally required to deny boarding to anyone without a valid ETA or eVisa starting on this date.
Who it Impacts: Citizens of 85 visa-exempt countries, including the U.S., Canada, Australia, and most of Europe.
Cost & Validity: The fee is £16 (approx. $21). It is valid for two years (or until the passport expires) and allows for multiple entries of up to six months each.
