The Honors College has a student lounge available during normal office hours named for the founding Dean of the Honors College, Dr. Carolyn A. Barros. The Reading Room features large group desks; a collection of important and fundamental texts in a number of disciplines, donated texts and resources for locating Financial Aid and Graduate Schools; a small computer lab; and wireless networking access. The lounge area is a popular hub of an Honors student's life for studying, Honors College Council meetings and Honors College events.
The Honors Computer Lab is part of the Carolyn A. Barros Reading Room. It is available to all Honors students. It consists of three Windows computers and three Macintosh computers, a scanner for each platform and a printer. Popular software is available on the computers. Wireless networking is available for individuals with laptops and wireless Ethernet cards.
