Shelby Boseman, Chief Legal Officer
Mr. Shelby Boseman joined UTA in April 2014 as its first in-house counsel and serves as Chief Legal Officer and University Attorney. He is an expert in higher education law and provides legal advice to UTA’s administration on a myriad of issues affecting UTA. He oversees the Office of Legal Affairs and the Title IX Office. Prior to joining UTA, Shelby served as Senior Associate General Counsel at Lone Star College System in The Woodlands, Texas and In-House Counsel at the Houston Housing Authority in Houston, Texas. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Weber State University, Ogden Utah and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Houston Law Center, Houston, Texas.
Kirsty Dymond, Associate University Attorney
Ms. Kirsty Dymond joined UTA’s Office of Legal Affairs in April 2020, as an Associate University Attorney. Kirsty works primarily on matters involving technology and privacy, intellectual property, research, employment law, and providing legal advice and assistance to the campus community. Prior to joining UTA, Kirsty served as Assistant General Counsel at Stephen F. Austin State University, in Nacogdoches, TX and Director of Student Services at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, NY. Kirsty holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Westminster, London, UK, Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course from BPP Law School, London, UK and a LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, New York, NY.
Kimberly Grubb, Associate University Attorney
Ms. Kimberly Grubb is an Associate University Attorney for UTA. She joined UTA in May of 2020 and focuses primarily on matters including contracts, employment, policies, and serves as the University’s Clery Compliance Officer. Before joining UTA, Kimberly was the first Assistant General Counsel for Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. Prior to joining TWU, she practiced in estate planning and probate. Kimberly graduated from Texas A&M School of Law in 2014 and spent three years interning with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office while taking classes. She received her B.A. in Journalism at the University of North Texas.
Katharine Adams, Assistant University Attorney
Ms. Katharine Adams joined UTA’s growing Office of Legal Affairs in February 2018 as its third in-house counsel. She works primarily on transactional matters affecting students such as affiliation agreements and student affairs services and also assists with other transactional issues and providing legal advice and assistance to the campus community. Prior to joining UTA, Katharine served as a Career Services Coordinator at Texas A&M University School of Law, in Fort Worth, Texas and a Trust Officer at U.S. Trust in Dallas, Texas. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Baylor University, Waco, Texas and a Juris Doctor Degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, Fort Worth, Texas.
Tiffany Gonzalez, Public Information Coordinator
Ms. Tiffany Gonzalez joined UTA in August 2013. She serves as UTA’s Public Information Coordinator and manages all requests for information submitted under the Texas Public Information Act and through other means such as subpoenas. In addition, Tiffany frequently serves UTA as a Maverick Service Excellence Trainer. Prior to joining UTA, Tiffany managed Outback Steakhouse and was the lead hospitality trainer. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Calculus from Florida Southern College, Lakeland, Florida.
Jenny Kimball, Paralegal
Ms. Jenny Kimball joined UTA in October 2016. She provides a range of paralegal services for the Office of Legal Affairs’ attorneys ranging from case management to litigation support. Prior to joining UTA, Jenny worked in several Texas school districts, state and federal appellate courts. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, Texas and a Master of Professional Studies in Paralegal Studies from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
Daphne Baker, Administrative Assistant
Ms. Daphne Baker joined UTA in February 2014. Daphne serves as an Administrative Assistant II and manages the administrative functions of the Office of Legal Affairs. Prior to joining UTA, Daphne was a Human Resources Manager in Chicago and Burr Ridge, Illinois, and also an entrepreneur who owned and successfully operated two businesses; Angelic Sweetz and Auctions Unlimited. Daphne is a proud U.S. Army Veteran who holds an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science from Draughons Junior College in Clarksville, Tennessee and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Ministry from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois.
Stephanie Jacobo, Support Specialist
Ms. Jacobo is a native Texan who has made a career in office administration. She brought her talents to UTA in 2013 when she started working for the Office of Financial Aid as a Support Specialist responsible for interfacing with students and handling office administrative duties. Since November 2019, Ms. Jacobo has worked as a Support Specialist in the Office of Legal Affairs handling the office’s intake and case file management and providing excellent customer service to the office’s clientele.
