The men’s tennis team claimed the Western Athletic Conference tournament championship.

Volleyball setter Mollie Blank was named the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the first time after stellar performances against Utah Tech and Southern Utah.

At the JD Martin Invitational, Jade Bontke broke UTA’s record in the 600-yard run with a time of 1:23.25, earning a first-place finish. Joel Bengtsson finished first in the 60-meter hurdles, topping the WAC leader boards. Lauren Walls-Portillo also grabbed a first-place finish, charting a time of 2:18.31 in the 800-meter run.

With a 102-53 win over Texas Southern to kick off the 2022-23 season, UTA women’s basketball recorded the most points ever scored in a season opener in team history.
