    If you fall victim to this virus, there is no way to unlock the files and you will need to rely on your backups. UT Arlington’s email system as well as computers that run System Center EndPoint Protection or McAfee software are protected from this malware.

    Mac OS X 10.8.5 Released

If you are using a UTA issued Mac that is running WinMagic SecureDoc (full disk encryption), you should NOT perform any updates until compatibility has been tested by OIT and the ISO.

    It’s a new semester here at UT Arlington, but with the return of students comes an increase of malware on the network. If you’re connecting any of your devices (phone, tablet, laptop) to the UTA wireless, you should be aware that there are infected computers sharing that space. Make sure you have an antivirus program installed and up-to-date, even on your phone and tablet (and even if it’s a Mac).
