| Remarks | IMPLEMENTED - Memo dated January 10, 2006 from Wyl Parker, Director for Housing and the UC: "We currently have no plans to include any other residence halls on required meal plans." |
| Whereas | Some students choose to live in other residence halls (Trinity, Brazos, and Lipscomb halls) to avoid purchasing such expensive meal plans; and |
| Whereas | Requiring all residence halls to require a meal plan would force students to seek housing options off campus; and |
| Whereas | Students leaving campus would make the campus less traditional; and |
| Whereas | Requiring students to eat in the cafeteria takes away the right for students to cook independently; and Cooking independently is an important skill for the "real world." |
| Be It Further Resolved That | The required meal plan policy should not be expanded to any existing residence halls other than those already implementing the required meal plan policy (KC and Arlington halls). |
