| Whereas | In many courses the teaching assistant and/or lab assistant can have as much, if not more so, of an impact on the quality of education a student receives as the instructor does; and |
| Whereas | Many instructors may provide excellent classroom instruction but have consistently poor grade distributions and evaluations due to problems students encounter with their TA; and |
| Whereas | Students often do not feel comfortable discussing problems they encounter with their TA with their instructor; and |
| Whereas | Some TA's do an excellent job but never receive credit or recognition for their efforts. |
| Be It Further Resolved That | An additional evaluation be given at the end of each course that asks questions about the teaching and/or lab assistant for the course similar to the questions asked about the course's instructor on the course evaluation. |
