Whereas A high drop rate for a particular course or instructor may indicate recurrent scheduling problems or other issues; and
Whereas It might also indicate issues with the quality of instruction or the catalog description of the course; and
Whereas The current course evaluation system fails to survey up to 60% of the students who paid some, if not all, of the cost of the course - namely, those who drop the course.
Be It Further Resolved That When a student drops a course they are given an anonymous, optional evaluation to complete concerning the course, their experiences up until the point they dropped, and why they dropped; and
Be It Further Resolved That These evaluations be treated similarly to the current course evaluations which the students complete at the end of the semester; and
Be It Further Resolved That These evaluations also ask the student how many sessions they attended of the class and record the date on which the student dropped.
