Remarks FAILED - Most co-pays are more than the charge at the health center. This would also require the health center to become a primary care provider.
Whereas Many students on campus have their own insurance policies through either their parents or their own personal insurance; and
Whereas Majority of students who receive treatment from the health center do not have the UT system insurance; and
Whereas Many of these students depend on insurance coverage to pay for their medical needs; and
Whereas Many students on campus feel the need to leave campus in order to use there insurance policy that they already have; and
Whereas The health center on campus is here for the students and should cater to the students' needs; and
Whereas The Health Center on campus does not acknowledge any other insurance besides that of the UT system, and all that is needed to gain access to other insurance agents is proper paperwork.
Be It Further Resolved That The UTA Health Center expand the possibilities of accepting other insurance companies policies, so that students won't feel the need to travel off campus to other medical centers.
