Remarks FAILED - "Attendance encourages learning."
Whereas The determinant factor in passing, failing, or receiving a certain grade in a class should be based totally on academic performance; and
Whereas Some professors' attendance policies threaten to detract from a student's academic performance by means of attendance; and
Whereas If a student can miss class while performing to his/her satisfaction and receive a passing grade; and
Whereas College students are adults and therefore responsible for their attendance to classes or lack thereof and their subsequent grade.
Be It Further Resolved That UTA put an end to attendance policies that would in any way detract from a students earned academic performance.
