Remarks FAILED - President Witt said in a memo dated December 31, 1999, that it would create a "barber pole" image not "consistent with our efforts to enhance the attractiveness of our campus."
Whereas The Ambassadors spend approximately $150 a year on supplies to decorate the light poles in the Library Mall area; and
Whereas There are 70 poles in this area and it is very time consuming for Ambassadors and other volunteers to decorate these poles; and
Whereas Pole decorating will be a continuing tradition at UTA; and
Whereas Painting the poles helps create a sense of campus unity year round.
Be It Further Resolved That UTA paint the Library Mall light poles blue and white to show that UTA has school spirit; and
Be It Further Resolved That This take effect immediately after passage.
