| Remarks | FAILED - There are very few southern hockey teams, resulting in a very high travel cost. No championship would be possible since there are no other hockey teams in our conference. |
| Whereas | Student involvement and school spirit is a real issue at UTA; and |
| Whereas | There is a need to find common ground on a good team sport to support putting fees and resources to compete nationally; and |
| Whereas | The 1998/99 Student Congress passed resolution 99-20 "Football" to address this concern. |
| Be It Further Resolved That | A feasibility study also be included in evaluating the establishment of a hockey team as a focus of the University's effort to have a nationally competitive sport; and |
| Be It Further Resolved That | This resolution take effect after passage. |
