Remarks FAILED - Would open a 'Pandora's Box' of students wanting faculty parking privileges.
Whereas Student parking is a problem on the UTA campus, and more people want to park than there are spaces, and students who are involved in organizations are in greater need of parking due to their increased responsibility on campus; and
Whereas Student leaders having access to faculty parking lots will aid in the alleviation of parking lot overloading; and
Whereas It will also reduce the stress of these individuals that is usually compounded by needing to chair/serve on committees; and
Whereas Additional benefit will be that this will create an incentive for students to become involved in their organizations and UTA in general; and
Whereas Knowing that becoming an elected Senator on Student Congress or an officer on a Constituency Council will provide a parking benefit will encourage accomplishment instead of apathy; and
Whereas The faculty/staff lots have numerous available parking spaces throughout the day, so no hardship would be created for faculty/staff.
Be It Further Resolved That All members of Student Congress and all officers of Constituency Councils have their Mav Express cards activated for use of the faculty/staff parking lots.
