Remarks FAILED - Student Congress is not the place to have a public display of religion.
Whereas Student Congress recites the "Pledge of Allegiance" before each general body meeting; and
Whereas UTA has several religious organizations on campus; and
Whereas The United States Congress, Texas Legislature, and Arlington/ Fort Worth/ Dallas City Councils have ministers, priest, and rabbi's pray to a universal God before their general body meetings.
Be It Further Resolved That Student Congress invite a representative from one of the religious organizations or another who desires to give the invocation after the "Pledge of Allegiance" before each general body meeting; and
Be It Further Resolved That This resolution take effect beginning of the next general body meeting after passage.
