Remarks FAILED - Inflating of grades, extra pressure on faculty.
Whereas Under the current grading ystem an 87 is given the same grade point as an 80; and
Whereas There is a significant difference between an 87 and an 80; and
Whereas Almost all graduate and law schools treat a student's GPA as a significant factor for admission; and
Whereas Many schools, such as Iowa State and Stanford, have instituted a revised scale that recognizes the difference beween a B+ and a B; and A more accurate accounting of student's grades to reflect academic achievemnet will increase enrollment.
Be It Further Resolved That UTA introduce a grading system in whih a C+ wil earn 2.5 grade points and a B+ will earn 3.5 grade points.
