Whereas | Some departments rotate academic advisors each semester; and |
Whereas | An advisor is key in helping students with their academic achievement; and |
Whereas | Many professors in these depatments take on a role of permanent advisor for students who request it; and |
Whereas | The assignment of a permanent acedemic advisor for each newly enrolled student would create a personal relationship with the advisor that will enable the advisor to better serve the student; and |
Whereas | This personal service would make new students more likely to stay at UTA. |
Be It Further Resolved That | Each incoming student is assigned a permanent academic advisor to assist them throughout their academic career. |
