Remarks FAILED - Students would have to pay $82 per academic year for this, according to a report commissioned in response to this resolution.
Whereas Some departments rotate academic advisors each semester; and
Whereas An advisor is key in helping students with their academic achievement; and
Whereas Many professors in these depatments take on a role of permanent advisor for students who request it; and
Whereas The assignment of a permanent acedemic advisor for each newly enrolled student would create a personal relationship with the advisor that will enable the advisor to better serve the student; and
Whereas This personal service would make new students more likely to stay at UTA.
Be It Further Resolved That Each incoming student is assigned a permanent academic advisor to assist them throughout their academic career.
