Whereas Students, staff, and faculty at UTA are dependent on a local day care to care for their children while attending classes, working, or teaching classes; and
Whereas Provisions of these child-care services is instrumental in the recruitment and retention of students, staff, and faculty; and
Whereas A day care facility associated with the University in proximity and student, staff, and faculty patronage provides a sense of closeness and security to respective parents; and
Whereas This facility may be used as a lab setting for various UTA departmental labs, to include Social Work, Nursing, Education, Psychology, and Sociology; and
Whereas The current YWCA child care center at 6th and Center St. is facing foreclosure in February of 1998.
Be It Further Resolved That UTA support the continued operation of this facility; and
Be It Further Resolved That UTA assist in the search for a suitable child-care provider and ensure that the continued, non-interrupted services of this facility.
