| Whereas | Currently, Jostens provides class rings to UTA students, and the official class ring of UTA has an outdated design; and |
| Whereas | UT Austin, UT San Antonio, UT El Paso, UT Brownsville, UT Dallas, and even UT Tyler all have official class rings; and |
| Whereas | We can create a more traditional connection to the images and regalia of the university by providing an updated official class ring. |
| Be It Further Resolved That | UTA form a committee of students, faculty, staff, and alumni to redesign the official class ring; and |
| Be It Further Resolved That | This committee also develops requirements for receiving a class ring, either by credit hours or status at the university; and |
| Be It Further Resolved That | The committee also works on developing a program to distribute the rings to students, such as a ring day or ceremony. |
