Whereas Students who transfer to UTA are not affected by their prior academic work for GPA calculation and therefore begin with a "clean slate;" and
Whereas The GPA of students who attend UTA from the beginning to the end of their academic career are affected by every course they take at UTA; and
Whereas Calculation for honors standing does not take into consideration whether a student was at UTA or at a junior college during their previous course work and therefore only includes work done at UTA; and
Whereas This system is inequitable when it comes time to distribute honor status.
Be It Further Resolved That Calculation for honors status take into consideration either work done only in the major or the last 60 hours of UTA credits; and
Be It Further Resolved That This take effect immediately.
