Remarks IMPLEMENTED - Memo from President Witt dated February 29, 1996, states that this resolution will be implemented.
Whereas Students enrolling in class are often unaware of the actual course content due to generalizations in the catalog, etc.; and
Whereas Students would be better served if they knew from the beginning what would be required in any given class, in order to avoid any possible conflict; and
Whereas Courses generally do not change radically from one semester to the next; and
Whereas This would hopefully reduce the number of Add/Drops that occur at the beginning of each semester.
Be It Further Resolved That All university academic departments be required to post syllabi from each class offered prior to the beginning of advisement and registration; and
Be It Further Resolved That That syllabi should include but is not limited to texts, grading criteria, and course overview; and
Be It Further Resolved That Should an instructor not be assigned to a section upon appointment their name should be posted immediately and their syllabus posted within three weeks of the first day of class, whichever comes first; and
Be It Further Resolved That Technique of the posting shall be up to the individual department; and
Be It Further Resolved That That this resolution take effect no later than the spring 1996 semester.
