Whereas UTA, being an urban university, often lacks characteristics that distinguish itself from the surrounding urban environment; and
Whereas Street signs that differ from those used to identify streets throughout Arlington would provide a distinct manner in which UTA can differentiate its campus perimieters from the rest of Arlington properties; and
Whereas Other universities in the metroplex, such as UNT and TCU, have signs unique to their campuses, and these signs are successful in identifying the perimeters of their campuses.
Be It Further Resolved That All street identifying signs used on UTA campus properties be changed to differ from those used by the city of Arlington; and
Be It Further Resolved That Each sign should be reversed in color so that the signs are white with blue lettering; and
Be It Further Resolved That Each sign should also have the UTA logo (or another acceptable identifying symbol that is representative of UTA) in the upper right corner of the sign; and
Be It Further Resolved That These new signs be in place on campus by the beginning of the Fall 1995 semester.
