Remarks IMPLEMENTED - "I would be pleased to speak with students about university plans" - President Amacher.
Whereas The existance of apathy among the student body with respect to the state of the university is rapidly increasing. It is important for the students to underatand and be aware of the state of the university; and
Whereas The university president is responsible for the state of the university; it has been the policy of the universtiy that most information within the university be freely available to the student body through the freedom of information act; and
Whereas It has been the precedent that the university president addresses the university student leaders at the annual leadership retreat. The university president does not report the state of the unviersity to the general student body in any form of public address or forum.
Be It Further Resolved That The universtiy president and provost be invited to make a universtiy-wide progress report at the beginning of each fiscal year with a following question and answer session; and
Be It Further Resolved That That the address be made in Texas Hall and be taped for future broadcast on the UTA public access channel; and
Be It Further Resolved That The tape be made available in the library for student use; and
Be It Further Resolved That This resolution take effect for the fiscal year '95 - '96; and
Be It Further Resolved That This progress report will be called the "State of the University Address".
