Remarks IMPLEMENTED - This resolution just enforces a current law.
Whereas The sidewalk in between College Hall and Ransom Hall has become an unofficial parking lot for administrators, Maitenance and Physical Plant workers, and ROTC instructors; and
Whereas The sidewalk in question is a major thoroughfare for students traveling from the south side of campus to the Universtiy Center; and
Whereas Parking is available inside the wooden fence behind College Hall; and
Whereas Part of the area in question has already been designated as a fire lane; and
Whereas It is not only irresponsible, but dangerous, and possibly criminally negligent for people to attempt to drive in and out of the area while students are walking by.
Be It Further Resolved That The only vehicles that will be allowed to park in the area between and directly to the south of College Hall and Ransom Hall shall be either police cars, ambulances, and/or fire trucks responding to actual emergencies; and
Be It Further Resolved That All other vehicles that will be towed immediately, regardless of ownership or function; and
Be It Further Resolved That ROTC instructors driving federal vehicles, and UTA employees driving state vehicles can negotiate with each other as to how to allot parking spaces inside the fence; and
Be It Further Resolved That There shall be no excuses!
