Remarks
Whereas UT-Arlington celebrates Founder's Day annually to commemorate our rich history; and
Whereas Founder's Day events have been sparse, featuring addresses by the presidents of the University and Student Congress, cake, and a pep rally; and
Whereas Celebrating Founders Day not only commemorates the inception of this institution, but also our role in and commitment to the Arlington community over the last 110 years.
Be It Further Resolved That The University should create a 'Senior Gift' program that allows each senior class to work on a gift to be given to the UTA community. The gift idea, fundraising, and giving process should be coordinated by a committee of senior student leaders under the supervision of either UTA Volunteers, EX.C.E.L., or Student Congress, so that the gift of a senior graduating in December, May, or August of 2005 or 2006 will be given to the university community at the Founders Day event in October of 2006.
