| Whereas | Many traditional universities offer both a parent's weekend and a little siblings weekend as opportunities to bring their students families to campus to participate in some of the universities activities; and |
| Whereas | UT-Arlington will host its first Parent's Weekend this academic year in support of bringing more tradition to the university; and |
| Whereas | Becoming a more traditional university is both a goal of UT-Arlington's administration and student communities. |
| Be It Further Resolved That | That UT-Arlington begin planning a Junior Maverick's or Little Siblings Weekend to help introduce college life and UT-Arlington to our families, improve campus traditions, and provide a more vibrant campus community; and |
| Be It Further Resolved That | The planning for the event be overseen by a committee of students, faculty, staff, administrators, and parents. |
