Remarks IMPLEMENTED - Sort of. According to a memo dated November 11, 1993 from University President Amacher: "We are working on a signage plan for the campus and this item will be included."
Whereas Most UTA buildings have their nameplate only on one outside wall of the entire building; and
Whereas Incoming freshmen, transfer students, and visitors become lost and frustrated when the names of buildings are not clearly visible; and
Whereas The "University of Texas at Arlington" nameplate on the Cooper central bridge is too small and slightly implies that we are not proud of UTA.
Be It Further Resolved That The name of each building be placed in all glass entrance doors of that building. The names could be put on a sticker in the same form of the "no smoking" signs; and
Be It Further Resolved That That several "campus locator maps" (similar to mall directories) be built showing the name and location of all buildings. Up to date construction areas and detours will also be posted. Under each building's name will be a list of all academic departments and special services that are found in that building; and
Be It Further Resolved That Larger, blue UTA letters be placed on the Cooper bridge.
