Whereas This is UTA, not UT Austin; and
Whereas Universities are known by their initials all over the U.S.; and
Whereas When you see and hear the acronyms of universities such as SMU, TCU, UCLA, USC, UNLV, and yes, even UT, you think of excellent degree programs; and
Whereas UTA in not a rinky-dink university but a state-of-the-art educational institution for students preparing for the workforce and returning from it; and

Be It Further Resolved That UTA redesign its entire inventory of stationery, business cards, calendars, graduation certificates, and every item that reads "The University of Texas at Arlington" be changed to read "UTA" in the colors of blue and white; and
Be It Further Resolved That A comprehensive recycling plan be put in place to efficiently reprocess all old stationary and other such items in a spirit of "friendliness" to the environment.
