Whereas In this day and age, both liberals and conservatives are calling for election reform; and
Whereas Said election reform would not be out of place at UTA; and
Whereas Some qualified Student Congress candidates may not have personal or special interest group funds to draw upon during campaigns.
Be It Further Resolved That Candidates for Student Congress representatives and Ambassador positions shall have a 50 dollar (U.S.) limit set on campaign materials; and
Be It Further Resolved That Candidates for S.C. President and Vice President, Mr. and Ms. UTA and Homecoming King and Queen shall have a $100 (U.S.) limit set on campaign materials; and
Be It Further Resolved That Campaign materials shall be defined as any item intended to promote an individual or group of individuals in a student election. This can include, but is not limited to: posters, flyers, business cards, T-shirts, pencils, etc.; and
Be It Further Resolved That This shall be done on the honor system, but any and all receipts shall be surrendered to the Election Committee upon request; and
Be It Further Resolved That Any suspected violations shall be reported to the Election Committee, and violators shall be subject to disqualificaiton.
