Remarks FAILED
Whereas The syllabus is designed to inform students of all areas of the course and grading procedures; and
Whereas Everyone would agree that grades should be distributed in a fair manner; and
Whereas Exemption policies of final exams encourage students to put forth the "extra effort" during the semester.
Be It Further Resolved That Any professor, associated professor or lecturer who has an exemption policy for the final exam state the exemption policy quidelines on the syllabus at the beginning of the semester; and
Be It Further Resolved That This will ensure all students have an equitable chance at exemption on the final exam eliminating subjective opinion; and
Be It Further Resolved That This is not an attempt to change any teaching styles but merely to let students know the "rules of the game"; and
Be It Further Resolved That If no exemption policy is stated on the syllabus, then no student in the class may be exempt from taking the final exam.
